A brace from Spanish talisman Sonia Bermudez and a goal from Priscila Borja Moreno have wrapped up an important 3-1 victory away at Fundacion Albacete which have kept their title hopes alive, with more than 10 matches left for the end of the Primera Division.
Atleti Feminas forged ahead early in the match through Spanish international Sonia Bermudez and few minutes later, talisman striker Priscila Borja Moreno doubled the score to make it 2-0 just after 10 minutes. It was key for them to be on the driving seat in the initial minutes to avoid any complications in a match which on paper is one of the easiest of the season. However, Fundacion Albacete managed to net one and reduce the score through Miriam just before half-time to put everything in discussion.
Angel Villacampa's side seemed to be more motivated following Albacete's goal and they piled up pressure from the beginning of the second half. They were superior in every aspect but could not kill the game until Bermudez fired a shot from outside the box which sealed the three points for the Feminas.
Three important points with a view on the title race. Next up is UD Collerense in a couple of week's time.
