Atletico Madrid’s season continues to go from bad to worse as news from the club confirms Jan Oblak dislocated his left shoulder against Villarreal on Monday night.
While they have not specified a time frame, the usual time out with a dislocated shoulder is between 12 and 16 weeks. For a goalkeeper to be entirely cleared to play after such an injury, it will take that much time.
The club’s official statement reads:
“Jan Oblak suffered a dislocated left shoulder. The Slovenian has been transferred to a hospital to undergo a radiological study. The red and white goalkeeper had to be replaced by Miguel Ángel Moyá in the 40th minute of the match.”
Miguel Angel Moya will step in as Atletico’s number one while the Slovenian recovers.
