It is difficult to comprehend just what has happened on board Chapecoense’s flight, supposed to land in Medellin, Colombia that has taken 76 lives. The fall-out of the accident will be a long and sad process for Brazilian club football and the entire sporting world.
It has been confirmed, however, that among the 76 confirmed dead is Cleber Santana, who joined the club in 2009 after a year in Mallorca before signing with Sao Paulo and spending the rest of his career in South America.
Atletico have passed on their condolences to the deceased and their families.
