Inter Milan are keen on bringing in Diego Simeone as their head coach according to a report by Grant Wahl from Sports Illustrated.

The Argentine has suggested in the past that he is keen to manage in Italy one day and with Atletico Madrid agreeing to reduce his contract by two years recently, the earliest he would be available to the Serie A side would be 2018.

Wahl says, “that Inter’s owner, the Chinese company Suning, is prepared to pay Simeone €15 million ($16.5 million) a year after taxes to bring him in at that point.”

Inter have just sacked Frank de Boer after less than three months in charge at the club after a 1-0 loss to Sampdoria and a relatively poor start to their season.

Simeone spent two years at the club from 1997 until 1999 during his playing days.
