The Guilherme Siqueira saga, which should never have been a saga in the first place, is over. We made it, everyone.
The 29-year-old who once turned down Real Madrid is on his way to Valencia - not Juventus, Newcastle or PSG - for the next 18 months. Gary Neville's side, which lost to Sporting Gijón on Sunday and has not won in La Liga since November, will likely employ Siqueira as deputy to José Gayá at left back.
Siqueira's departure (it is likely he does not come back) also means we can update the ledger to Atlético's summer 2014 transfer window. Of the nine players Atleti bought that summer, five are still on the team and two - Antoine Griezmann and Jan Oblak - have developed into key players.
Best of luck to Guilherme at Valencia.
