Diego Simeone is the master of the counterattack. That's why he is so upset about being beaten by Benfica 2-1 back in September in what can only be described as a Simeone-esque performance. They soaked a lot of Atletico Madrid pressure and hit them on the counter through Nicolas Gaitan predominantly.
Raul Jimenez hasn't done much of note since leaving Atletico Madrid last summer. He does not play as regularly in domestic competition as he probably likes but his two goals against Astana in Benfica's last outing in the Champions League might mean a corner has been turned for the Mexican striker. Keep an eye on the Atletico flop as he will surely love to twist the knife in Atletico's back and demote them to second in the Champions League and in direct firing line of the bigger players in Europe in the next round.
